Whatever it is, we’re here to advocate for you.

BLACK JOURNALISTS WILL FOREVER MATTER

Welcome to the Indianapolis Association of Black Journalists, a chapter extension of the National Association of Black Journalists. As an organization, we strive to empower Black media professionals by providing resources, networking opportunities, and advocacy for equitable representation in the media landscape.

Through our events, workshops, and community initiatives, we aim to elevate the standards of journalism while also nurturing the next generation of storytellers. Whether you're a seasoned journalist, a student aspiring to enter the field, or simply someone who values the power of media to effect positive change, we invite you to join us in our mission to shape a more inclusive and equitable media landscape.

MEET THE MEDIA NIGHT

This year, “Meet the Media Night in Overdrive” is motorsports-themed and will center around surpassing mediocrity and striving for greatness. ABC News Anchor Linsey Davis will keynote and WNBA and NBA in-game host Olivia West will moderate a fireside chat with Indiana University basketball alumni and former NBA Player turn business owner, Alan Henderson. The evening will also include a scholarship presentation of $3,000, a live DJ, auction games, photo opportunities, hors d'oeuvres, and a cash bar.

IABJ has become affiliate partners with Popcorn World of Indianapolis. We’re supporting Pete Lee, the CEO of the locally black owned business, who is helping us raise funds for our scholarship fund.

The fundraiser will end on May 31st, 2024.

Our fundraising goal is $2,000

You can purchase through the link in our graphic or stop by the store and name drop IABJ. 50% of proceeds will go to our fund.

Location: 3755 E Raymond St. Suite C, Indianapolis.
